Each year the ministry focuses on an annual
theme. The theme for 2007-2008 is Abba I belong
to You based on the verse 1 John 3:1,
How
great is the love the Father has lavished on us,
that
we should be called children of God! And that is what
we are!
The reason the world does not know us is that
it did not know him.
Abba I belong to You is a declaration of our identity.
God is our Abba Father. We are His children, dearly
and lavishly loved. Knowing that we ARE His children
– daughters of the King – should motivate
us to live our lives like Jesus did – in ways
the world does not know or understand.
What an unfathomable privilege to be adopted into
God’s family, to be called, named, invited,
and summoned to be daughters of the King. Who can
grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the lavish
love of God that would bring us into His very
own
family?
Our relationship with God necessitates a response.
Our identity initiates a new way of life. God’s
daughters must bleed love for their Abba and for others
following the example of Jesus whose blood set the
seal of ownership on us; Abba, we belong
to You.
